UPDATE: The park is in good condition and the rain has left, so Big Event will stay at Eastwoods Park as planned. See you there.
Open to all CS majors, ACM members, professors, and staff members!
Big Event is our biannual barbecue and social, chock full of food, games, prizes, and great people. Take some time off and mingle with friends and professors while enjoying catering from Rudy's Barbecue. Big Event takes place in Eastwoods Park, just north of campus, and generally lasts about three hours. If you can't stay the whole time, no worries.
Eastwoods Park is located on Harris Park Ave. and Dean Keeton, a short walk from campus. Limited parking is usually available along Harris Park Avenue, adjacent to Eastwoods.

It's time for everyone's favorite pastime on ice... BROOMBALL! If you are unfamiliar with broomball, try to think of it as hockey except:
1) instead of skates... shoes
2) instead of a puck... a dodge ball
3) instead of a hockey stick... a stick with a plastic end
4) instead of pain... fun!
The cap on the event is set at 30 people and everyone needs to bring $10 cash to cover the cost. Sign up here to guarantee yourself a spot (click "Read More" if you're on the front page), or cross your fingers and just show up. We will meet at the office and arrange rides at 10pm. The game begins at 10:45pm.

Join Dr. Emerson and ACM for a casual lunch at Tony's Vineyard. Chances are, you probably already know who Emerson is--for his decades of work on Model Checking, he recently received the Turing Award, the Computer Science equivalent of the Nobel Prize. Since then, he's received a flurry of publicity and recognition, and so we're fortunate to have a couple hours of his free time to treat him to lunch. This event requires an RSVP, though anyone is welcome to come. Also note that the price of your meal is not covered by ACM.
ACM will hold a review session for CS 315 Exam 3 in Taylor 3.128 at 6:30 PM today (Tuesday April 29, 2008).
