It's time for everyone's favorite pastime on ice... BROOMBALL! If you are unfamiliar with broomball, try to think of it as hockey except: The cap on the event is set at 30 people and everyone needs to bring $10 cash to cover the cost. Sign up here to guarantee yourself a spot (click "Read More" if you're on the front page), or cross your fingers and just show up. We will meet at the office and arrange rides at 10pm. Chances are, you probably already know who Emerson is--for his decades of work on Model Checking, he recently received the Turing Award, the Computer Science equivalent of the Nobel Prize. Since then, he's received a flurry of publicity and recognition, and so we're fortunate to have a couple hours of his free time to treat him to lunch. This event requires an RSVP, though anyone is welcome to come. Also note that the price of your meal is not covered by ACM. | ||
